February 2022 Highlight- AOS Solstice Party Highlights
February 25, 2022After a year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual AOS Solstice Party took place on February 18th . After a sold-out banquet dinner portion (and a general rush to the window when a snow squall passed over Madison), the faculty, the undergraduate, and the graduate students performed skits. First up was the faculty skit with a very difficult game of charades that was sadly not caught on video. The undergraduate skit consisted of an Oscar’s style award ceremony for the AOS department, giving out small trophies to professors and staff alike. Finally, the graduate students hosted AOS trivia night, where everyone had to guess the faculty or staff member from a one sentence line.
As is tradition, the Sundogs performed at the Solstice Party, and this concert was extra special as it was belatedly celebrating the Sundog’s 20th anniversary concert. The concert ran for over three hours, and Professors Jon Martin and Grant Petty were on stage performing a fantastic set of classic rock tunes .
Thank you to everyone who came to the Solstice Party!
