Kyle Obremski
I am a Master’s student and research assistant with the Space Science and Engineering Center at UW-Madison co-advised by Jeff Key and Tristan L’Ecuyer. My research interests include remote sensing, radiative transfer, tropical cyclones, and sea ice. My current research analyzes the presence of sea ice in the Northwest Passage (Canadian Archipelago) and what dynamic and thermodynamic processes favor the opening or closing of the Northwest Passage to Arctic shipping. To aid my analysis I employ various sources of satellite data, reanalysis, as well as machine learning for the purpose of time series forecasting. I received my BS in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences and Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2022).
