Derek Kaplan
Hello! I am a 2nd year Professional Masters student, who is working with Professor Hannah Zanowski on topics in Planetary Oceanography. I am currently investigating the effects of rotation rate and depth upon ocean circulation and nutrient cycling, in an effort to quantify planetary habitability. I did my Bachelors at UC Berkeley in astrophysics, and I am a member of the Wisconsin Institute for Origins Research (WiCOR), where I combine my astronomy background and my AOS learning into my broad interdisciplinary interest of astrobiology!
