PhD University of Washington

My goal is to contribute understanding about the dynamics of the atmosphere and ocean, including the general circulation, synoptic and mesoscales. I also seek to contribute insight into the climatological distribution of volcanic aerosol and ozone. We are currently using global data sets, aircraft data, and numerical models to investigate transport and mixing in the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere, the influence of tropical convection on the extratropics, and dynamical coupling between the troposphere and stratosphere.
